I’m still sore about missing the first DemoCamp gathering of N. Texas geeks for what I heard was a good, well-attended event. I could complain about how far away is but this time around, I’ll just roll my chair over when things get started ; ) It will be hosted at Viewzi’s new offices where a few other geeks are doing the startup thang.
Check out the wiki for details and to confirm your desire to be counted among the DAWGs – Dallas Area Web Geeks – yeah, that’s my original. Feel free to use it
DemoCamp is plain and simple: geek show and tell. Five presenters get 15 minutes to demo their technology in front of a friendly audience. Demos should have roughly a 2 minute introduction, 8 minute demonstration, and 5 minutes for questions. 15 minutes total. The 5 presentations for this second DemoCamp are below on this page.
* Date: Proposed: April 23 (Monday)
* Location: Tentative: Viewzi HQ 3116-D Commerce (the Red door), just past Hall St. Free parking on the streets around
* Requests: Pizza & Drinks, Big “Timer/Clock”
* Expected Attendance: Let’s see if we can get 50 people (Toronto gets 150!)
Tonight, in Deep Ellum, we’ll be doing a walk-through of the venue organized by Chris St. John, the consistent promoter of Dallas area BarCamps and other opportunities for geeks to get their heads together.
