Branding Amazon + TiVo

I’ve been holding this screen shot on my desktop for a long time depicting Amazon’s TiVo offering. I was operating on gut reaction upon seeing their promotional ad. While I love Amazon and am a “prime” member and a longtime TiVO user, this just doesn’t resonate with me. In my opinion is just looks lousy! I can only hope it’s easy to use on with the TV remote.

Companies looking to form alliances to crack large consumer markets should focus more on branding and ease-of-use imho. Now, of course I’m an Apple fanboy and am long on AAPL but their hookup with Nike to promote iPod and sneaks to runners is pure genius *and* well executed save the obnoxiously constrained Flash-based website!

Maybe giving the Amazon + TiVo service a spin prior to judging it from the cover would be a good idea! And now that Apple TV is *shipping* this space should be getting red hot. The Wall Street analyst’s note on Apple TV this week surely got everyone’s attention.
